The Master’s Programme

The Master’s in Philosophy and Economics is organised and taught by both the departments of philosophy and economics. It is a unique two-year (120 ECTS) course of studies offering a rigorous graduate level education in core areas of economics and core areas of philosophy relevant to economics. The language of instruction is English.

Entrance Requirements
You should have a Bachelor degree in philosophy, economics, or a related discipline with at least a grade point average of 2.0 according to the German grading scale. If you do not have the appropriate skills in mathematics and applied statistics you will be required to obtain these in preparatory courses.

You should also be made aware of the fact that basic courses in both philosophy and economics are MA level courses. Course descriptions will be available soon in order to help you make your decision.

  • We run a rolling admissions policy. Applications for the 2012-13 academic year will be accepted from 01 March 2012. We advise you to apply as early as possible.
  • Offer of a place will usually be made within 30 days.
  • Please submit your application using this the 2012 Application Form (this is an Excel file) Please fill out the file and return it by e-mail. All instructions are included in the form.
